Hello, hello patrons, welcome to your bonus episode. Just FYI, it is 10.04 PM. I know we are not on our A game. I'm pouring some water into my Stanley cup right now. We just recorded an episode with our special guest, chris, who that was our second time trying to record. Y'all may remember we had some serious mic problems and actually we don't know how this next one's going to sound anyway. But okay, we talked to him about movies, in particular movie soundtracks, mostly 80s. We did talk a little 90s, but it was a of 80s, yeah, and like kind of kind of like how the movie soundtrack got to be such a big deal in general in general. Yeah, right, um, so now I decided on our bonus episode. We're gonna do something.
Speaker 1:katie has no idea what I'm about to say she's looking at me like, oh my god, here's what we're going to do. Okay, I'm going to say a movie soundtrack and then I'm going to give you a few seconds and you have to start singing something from the movie soundtrack.
Speaker 2:Okay, so not the song, the soundtrack.
Speaker 1:And then I pick a song. Anything from the soundtrack can be eighties or nineties, and I will make sure we'll. And then you can ask me and I'll do the same and we will just go back and forth and we'll make sure we're nice to each other and don't give you like weird shit. Okay, are you ready? So?
Speaker 1:beethoven, beethoven too, all the bangers from the dog movies um, I'm making sure I'm not getting a message from my husband. Hold on, because it is 10 o'clock night. Our kids are at dress rehearsal for a show. Who is messaging me? I don't be knowing. We're good. Oh, crystal texted me and said Cooper was amazing. Oh, that was so nice, that is so sweet. Okay, speaking of dress rehearsal, are you ready? I'm ready. I'm going to give you an easy one to start with. Okay, my only caveat is you may not, for this one, sing the song that has the title of what I'm about to say. Okay, okay, footloose, okay, okay.
Speaker 2:Oh yeah, we just talked about this.
Speaker 1:You have lots of options.
Speaker 2:I need a hero. I'm holding out for a hero to the end of the night. Is it line or night Line? No, it's night, it's not. I ask which one it is, and then I say the wrong one here until the end of the line.
Speaker 1:Yeah, Like.
Speaker 2:The end of the line is like no the last stop.
Speaker 1:Now listen, I am the queen of misspoken lyrics, so I'm probably not the right person to ask, but I'm pretty sure on that one it's night night.
Speaker 2:Yeah.
Speaker 1:Okay, but I do love that Nice job. Thank you, nice job.
Speaker 2:All right, that helped because we had just talked about it with Chris, but still I do I would probably would have sang that anyway. I love that song.
Speaker 1:Also also um with misspoken lyrics. You know the song um. Here I go again on my own by White.
Speaker 1:Snake. Yeah, no joke. Until about five years ago, I seriously thought the worst. I think I've said this before on here the words of that song where it says like a drifter, I was born to walk alone. Yeah, I swear to God, I thought it said like a twister, I was born to walk alone. And I'm in the car with my husband and I'm singing that shit at the top of my lungs and he turned the volume down and he goes what did you just say? I said like a twister. And he goes no, just no, that's wrong. And I'm like he's like, can you please think about that for a minute? And I'm like a twister. A twister walks aloneister walks alone.
Speaker 2:He's like no drifter drifter okay all right, that's a good one, that's a good one. All right, all right, now let's see, I have to do my favorite. Can't hardly wait.
Speaker 1:Soundtrack okay, um well, the party don't start till I walk in. No, that's wrong, and I probably won't leave before the thing ends. But in the meantime, the in-between time, I'll go for yours and then you go for mine.
Speaker 2:There you go, but what's the name of that song? I don't know that one's.
Speaker 1:Oh, my God, I don't know. Also, another song that's on that soundtrack that I love is it's Tricky, it's tricky, it's tricky, tricky, tricky, tricky. I met this little girly. Her hair was kind of curly went to her house to bust her out. I had to leave her early.
Speaker 2:God, yes, that is in that one and eve six that I would swallow my pride. I would choke on rhymes, but the lack thereof would leave me empty inside. Swallow my doubt, turn it inside. I'll find nothing but faith in nothing I want to put my tender heart in a blender. Watch it spin around to a beautiful oblivion. Rendezvous, then I'm through with you.
Speaker 1:Man good shit right there so good.

Speaker 1:Yeah, there's a Yaz song in there yes, at the end in the train station.

Speaker 1:Oh god, I love Yaz. Oh man, we talked about Yaz with Brant, on Upstairs with Eric. That's the album.

Speaker 1:Oh, okay, this one's going to be out there, but I think you can do it Clueless.
Speaker 2:Well, they sing it at the party. Yeah, go Rolling with the homies I always think of, is it Brittany Murphy? Is that her name?
Speaker 1:And she's singing that oh rest in peace, brittany.
Speaker 2:But there's so many other good ones in that.
Speaker 1:What else? My favorite song on that soundtrack is we're the kids in. America. We're the kids in America. That is a good one. Fake Plastic Trees. I love that song Because they're listening to it in the car. That's right.
Speaker 2:That's a good one, I have to say, because I really want to hear you sing what I think you're going to sing Oliver and Company.
Speaker 1:Why should I worry? Why should I care? I don't know any more of the words though Me either. That's all I know. That's all I need to know. It's like Hakuna Matata, that's all. That's all you need to know. Why should I worry? Why should I worry?

Speaker 1:I mean, I'm not sure, obviously, okay, all right, let me think of another one for you. Okay, I'm not going to do a musical, like I was about to say Grease, but nope.
Speaker 2:No, no, no, no, it's too easy. That's 70s anyway, it is 78. Oh, yeah, we talked about that, or 77. 77 or 78, he said Okay.

Speaker 2:And then, what else did they sing on the float? I don't remember when they broke in town. We'll shake it up, baby, now shake it up, baby.
Speaker 1:Okay, so is your son named Dr Ferris, so the not sure Okay. Right, so he was named before.
Speaker 2:I was in his life.
Speaker 1:Right.
Speaker 2:But supposedly no Okay Now, Brant loves that movie, I know.
Speaker 1:And we've watched it a zillion times. I mean I'd be down with that In my son's childhood.
Speaker 2:He hated it when he was little, of course, because it's not a common name, so like, if it was on, it would always be like Ferris, ferris, ferris, and he'd be like ah. But now he like totally embraces it loves it, doesn't care, like Ferris, oh, like Ferris Bueller. Every time, which I mean, yeah, well, because you don't hear that name no, I've never heard anyone else, so it is like a Celtic name.
Speaker 2:Okay, right, so my husband has Irish roots. Like, we have a daughter named Teagan Erin, which literally means Ireland, ireland, and then someone in London, but whatever, we're just, we're all over, we're international baby, but um, so technically no, I guess he has an older sister on his mom's side, okay, who was nine or ten when he was born, and so they asked her and supposedly that was the name.
Speaker 2:She said oh, that's cute and then they were both like yeah, we really like that. And what's crazy is he? He resembles ferris, he's got like the really dark hair and he does, and the brown eyes and he looks a lot like him so it is kind of funny. And ferris bueller on that float had a generation in between aesthetic. He's got that leopard print jacket on and that like white shirt and the jeans.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I love that movie. I know chicago too. Like you know, I love chicago, so I I love that movie never been there oh it's. It's my favorite city in the whole world. Really Absolutely love Chicago and I love New York too and DC, but Chicago's number one OK.
Speaker 1:Hot take. Yeah, hot take. I mean not really a hot take. A lot of people like Chicago. Interesting fact, no-transcript crap. I'm like running low trying to think about.
Speaker 2:Oh, forrest gump, oh um, there's so many running on empty, that's the one you pick running. That's jackson brown. That's a good one we talked about earlier. I don't know why, but like every time I think of forrest gump I think of when he's like running in the desert.

Speaker 2:okay, I know it's gonna change your life we didn't even talk about forrest gump with chris, but I guess maybe we didn't get that we didn't have enough time it was oh, did you ever watch the movie? I think it was late 90s. Um, because is it called no? No, what's it called up close and personal, who was in it? Michelle pfeiffer, robert redford she was a tv journalist yes, do you remember the song from that one that was like a huge hit celine dion's, because you love me I sang that at my mom's wedding what I did I love that song and I always loved that movie.
Speaker 1:It made me want to become a journalist. Well, let me, let me clarify I sang a non-celine version of the Obviously.
Speaker 2:I'm Married. Oh well, yeah, your own version. Nobody can be Celine.
Speaker 1:Of course, but I did, I sang that with a piano, oh. I love that song, my mom, my stepdad's wedding.
Speaker 2:Okay, you have to sing that too sometime when we go somewhere, because I would like to hear it, please Nah.
Speaker 1:I love that song, but my favorite song of hers is I Can't Make you Love.
Speaker 2:Me. I Can't Make you Love Me. I don't think I could sing that. That song makes me cry, just listening to it. Oh, it's so good, so good.
Speaker 1:Is she just not so good? She's great. I don't have there should be, is what I'm saying there, probably is Are we digging deep enough?
Speaker 2:We might need to.
Speaker 1:I don't know she's great, all right.
